Following strong demand, and to complement our comprehensive range of safety surfaces, we’ve added driveways and pathways to our extensive repertoire.

Our driveway solutions offer clients a hard-wearing gravel surface that is fixed in place with our specialised binding solvent. It’s laid in a similar fashion to our rubber wet pour surfaces, but uses gravel instead of rubber tarmac and is therefore well-suited for use on driveways where cars might otherwise damage a rubber surface.

The driveway surfaces are porous, making them SUDS (Sustainable Urban Drainage Solutions) compliant, and this ensures that we’re doing our bit for the environment. We can achieve this because any surface water quickly drains through the top layer and then flows naturally into the water table. The Environment Agency encourages the use of this type of surfacing to help tackle the growing threat of flooding in many areas, so it’s something we’re proud to be able to offer.

There are, essentially, two options for your driveway surface, namely resin-bonded gravel and resin-bound gravel. Resin-bonded gravel involves applying the resin over a suitable base using a squeegee. We then scatter loose dried aggregates over the tacky resin before it sets. Resin-bound gravel, on the other hand, involves blending the aggregate within the resin prior to application. We then use a trowel to achieve a smooth and level finish.

Whichever option you choose, we can customise your driveway or outdoor space by adding design elements such as logos or numbers, and these can be easily incorporated into the finished area by utilising contrasting stone colours to provide your desired finish.

The Surfacing Groups’ driveway solutions are aesthetically pleasing and they also provide a longer-lasting alternative when compared with concrete or tarmac. Every installation comes with a ten year warranty, and they are also reasonably maintenance free. The gravel won’t dissipate when it’s driven on and we’re able to recommend the ideal texture and composition to suit your needs.
